Sara’s Charleston City Wedding

Charleston City Wedding on the Water

With Sara’s city wedding taking place at the Historic Rice Mill, she wanted a classic but sexy gown to wear at her nuptials. The venue featured plenty of exposed brick and old hardwood flooring, which helped put all the focus on our beautiful bride! The urban-feel historic city wedding was a perfect fit for sweet Sara!

She settled on this gorgeous Martina Liana lace gown with a low back to give her the look she was going for, and, boy, did she rock it! Her gown featured an illusion lace detail along the outline of her gown’s low back.  Also, though her gown was fitted, it flared out at the back to a full and lace trimmed train that is stunning in her photos!

Q&A with the Bride

GBC: What did you love most about your gown?
Sara: The low back and lace detail were what I loved most about my gown. The lace was so intricate and absolutely beautiful!! I could not have imagined a more perfect dress to suit me. It was exactly what I have always envisioned.

GBC: What was your most memorable wedding dress shopping moment?
Sara: The first day I started shopping for my gown was so memorable. I had been to a few different bridal boutiques looking for the perfect dress.  The gowns were pretty, but as soon as I stepped into Gown Boutique, I knew that was where I was going to find my dress. The atmosphere was amazing, everyone was so friendly, and they had such a wide variety of beautiful dresses. The staff was very knowledgeable, and I knew I could trust Gown Boutique with my future wedding dress throughout the entire process (alterations and all).

GBC: What was the most memorable moment from your wedding?
Sara: Our wedding ceremony was the most memorable moment.  The setting was an absolutely perfect sunny day in November overlooking the Charleston Harbor.  We had two cellists (my favorite instrument).  We also had all of our closest friends and family.  Seeing Ross’s face as I walked down the aisle made it seem like we were in a Fairy Tale. I will never forget that feeling.

GBC: Any advice you have for other brides or anything to share about your wedding planning experience?
Sara: Planning a wedding can be very stressful at times, especially the pressure put on a bride to find a perfect dress. Gown Boutique helped make the wedding dress shopping a great experience from the moment I walked in until my wedding day. Overall, the stress/planning was completely worth it.  To me, the wedding ended up being so perfect – exactly how I had always imagined.
