Lauren’s vision was so unique and beautiful to us. Knowing what our incredible partered seamstress could do, we had the perfect dress to create Lauren’s dream gown! Lauren said “YES” to Essense of Australia style #D1875. With some extra fabric and lots of fittings, Lauren’s gown came to life.

What were some of your “must haves” for your wedding dress? I wanted something with a “simple” fabric and something with a more constructive design element, whether that was a blow, etc. I didn’t care what it was, just something different and a bit abstract!

Was your vision the same as the wedding dress you chose? In some ways, yes, in other ways no! I had always seen myself in an A-line dress, but as the shopping process grew closer I started leaning towards more fitted gowns with a high neck. When I went to try on dresses, I tried all silhouettes and did end up landing on my child hood dream, an A-line!

What did you love most about your gown? So many things! The buttons going down the back of the train, the low back, the sweetheart neckline, the pockets. I think my favorite detail though was the two pleats that lined the front of the gown making it the most flattering design I’ve ever seen! One of my favorite pictures from the evening is me twirling in my dress showing it off at the reception.

How did you know you had found your wedding dress? I cried…and then I cried some more! I couldn’t explain to anyone why I was crying. It wasn’t like this overwhelming vision of me walking down the aisle. I just felt so comfortable, and it was such a flattering gown on me. I think it was a relief, joy, and excitement all in one!

Most memorable moment from your wedding dress shopping experience: I think the most memorable moments were when I found my gown, shopping with my mother and mother-in-law, and the first dress I tried on of the day. Finding your dress fits you with overwhelming emotions, that “this is it” moment!

Most memorable moment from your wedding day: So many memories! One in particular was when I was in my “holding cell” waiting to walk down the aisle. You could hear the music playing, and the girls had lined up and walked out. My dad came down to get me to walk me up the stairs into the sanctuary, and I was able to see myself one last time in a full length mirror before walking out. I just started to happy cry…taking in the veil, dress, and the flowers. I looked up at my dad and he was in tears and smiling. It was an incredible moment for the both of us! I cried the whole way down the aisle!

Advice you would give to future brides about wedding dress shopping: Keep an open mind and be weary of who you taking shopping with you! Also don’t be afraid to speak up about your concerns. Don’t assume your stylist doesn’t have what you are in love in stock! They are their to help. Use them! As for your shopping crew, sometimes too many people and opinions can be too much. Make sure you take people that are open to your likes and won’t force their opinion on you. Being able to try things on and love dresses with no judgement made my experience the absolute best.
